Glad to hear that Millis responded so quickly. I wish you luck my friend. Check out my post to hear about after I left Richfield.

I was assigned my new trainer today. He is one of the drivers I had breakfast with on Saturday morning. He tested out his last student at BRF today and will pick me up early am tomarrow. What a relief.... During my downtime I got the opportunity to meet Baritone and make many other contacts with other drivers. I also watched some football and shot the breeze with gilley. Funny story, I was in the drivers room talking with some drivers for about an hour and little did I know that one was Baritone, lol. I was sitting right next to gilley for the longest time watching and talking football without knowing it was him either. Pretty funny. Looking forward to getting back on the road to continue my training. Thanks for all the support!

It was a honor to met you and sorry it didnt work out for me to take you. It sounds like you have a good trainer coming up so should be much better. I am also sorry you had to deal with all that you did. Most people wouldnt have done that not to mention your great attitude during it all. I think you saw first hand - that's not a "typical" experience and others are not affraid to stand up and help when even a new driver needs assistance!
I am glad we were there to help you along and keep me posted on your progress! -
My new trainer picked me up at Richfield Tuesday at 06:30. Headed to WCH Ohio. Got a QC to meet another driver in Gary at the TA. We swapped loads and headed to Lancaster, Ohio. We spent the night in Lancaster and headed for Trenton to pick up a beer load. Grabbed a loaded trailer and headed to Chicago Beverage. What a view of the city coming in. Woo Hoo! What an experience! Tight turns, traffic and general mayhem! Excellent experience. I have received a ton of training! Excellent guy! Things are really going now. Thanks for all the support everyone. It really seems my first trainer was the exception not the rule. Everyone stay safe and have a great day, and a big shout out to my wife! Love ya!

Glad to hear it's going good for you now. It was good you kept a good attitude thru it. It was definitely the exception not the rule. Keep us updated.

The training continues.... I am learning new things and honing my previous things daily. We have been to Coca cola in Cincinatti, Menards in Plano, a beverage distributor in Aurora, a broker outside of Chicago. We now sit taking a ten in Morris IL. We will be headed to Menards in Lancaster Ohio. We scaled a beer load in Trenton last night. It took us 4 tries to get it right even though it was a light one 79960 with a half tank of fuel. I am really enjoying the training.
My trainers name is Bill out of Delaware Ohio truck 2016, What a great teacher! patience every step of the way along with a constant flow of useful information. Not to mention " nerves of steel". This cat is the real deal when it comes to teaching. He has a background in motivational speaking engagements just to give you a little insight.
Driving through the streets of Chicago is probably my biggest thrill thus far. Challenging and exciting all rolled into one. Tight turns, pedestrians everywhere, crazy four wheelers the whole package. I am so suprised at how everything is coming together. I am feeling so much more at ease in all the situations. Don't misunderstand me. I realize the learning curve will last a lifetime, I am just feeling more comfortable daily. As a response to Baritone " the pleasure was all mine sir" and a shout out to Bear at the same time!

You go boy! You still set to take the CDL test next week?
-
Heya Baritone, No CDL test for me next week as my Trainer had home time scheduled for that day. I rescheduled for the following week. My driving is like night and day compared to last week and I am very optimistic about my chances. I am looking forward to the opportunity to drive team with my trainer and really rack up some miles. On the other hand I am enjoying this learning process so much I would like to soak up as much as possible. Take care Sir and be safe.

Sounds good - keep me posted and let me know how it goes!

I spent the weekend at home. I had a great time with the wife. I took my nephew trick or treating on Monday. Back at it on Tuesday picked up a beer load in Trenton and ran it up to North Aurora IL, Euclid Beverage. No parking at receiver but easy parking right outside on the street. We have been there twice. Very quick unloads. Headed to Streator to get a glass load headed to Albany, Ga. I have never been to Georgia so I am looking forward to some beautiful scenery. We are are going to run all night for a 0900 delivery. Other news, I was in the tractor on Tuesday morning and did some coresponding with dispatch. Patiently waiting on our load.... At 01100 got a message from dispatch " Are you ready". I never sent in the Macro 4 first thing in the morning. Another lesson learned.... kinda expensive one, 4 hours lost. My trainer took it well and so did dispatch. Things are going well, Cdl test on Tuesday in Indy. I am cautiously optomistic.
