:biggrin_25513:Didn't make it to Albany . Rolling up 24, 0100 this morning, a yearling was standing on the centerline. I rolled out of the throttle and held my course, she turned to go back and that was it. Hit her right in the license plate. She took out left side of the bumper on the T700 and broke the hood support shock. No fiberglass damage. The bumper was loose and we could not bungee it off the steer tire so we cut it off with a multi tool. We are in Cartersville now waiting on repair or diagnosis, taking a ten. The truck never even felt that deer. Thud and it was over. A regional driver is going to finish the run.

What's up Mellonhs! Looking you up was on my "to do list". Bummer we didn't get to chat. This was my first trip to Cartesrville. I drove all night and was waay burned out. Call home, shower and I was in the rack. We are headed to Dalton to pick up a load and off to Eau Claire. Then to BRF for repairs. My CDL is scheduled for Tuesday and dispatch told me to reschedule because I wasn't going to make it. Sounds like a long weekend in BRF. I am kinda bummed for my Trainer as it will be like a 2200 mile week for him. Everyone be safe and look out for the little fuzzies!

Woo Hoo! We got a loaner truck. 6181 a T2. It is not the sweetest, it has some creature comfort problems, but I love the way it drives and I really like the "Cat" power! This tractor is a BEAST! My trainer just can"t believe how much I like this truck, he keeps saying " are you joking with me?". We got a load from Eau Claire to Kenosha and deadheaded to Chicago to pick up a load to Atlanta. BAM! we will be over 3000 for the week provided I don't run into anymore deer. I saw a wrecked truck at BRF. Word is the driver is ok, but by the looks of the truck, what a miracle. We are currently taking a 10 off 65. Everything is going really well, My skills are continueing to grow, I am learning more new things than I can mention daily. But here is something I learned; The orange construction barrels on the highway are really Schneider eggs!:biggrin_2559:

Had a hiccup on the way to Atlanta. Blew a left front outside drive tire going up Mount Eagle. The good part is we were within a 1/2 mile of the rest area. We were down for about an hour and fifteen minutes and back on the road. Talk about quick service! Ran it on into Atlanta and enjoying the beautiful day waiting for the next load. Due to the damage to my Trainers truck from the deer my CDL is rescheduled for the 14th.
