Millis update

How long did it take for you to hear you had been accepted after you initially applied to Millis? Was there a long wait to get in a class after they let you know you had been accepted? I am hoping I could get into one of their spring classes and am wondering if I should start applying now. Does anybody know how they filter all the apps they get? I heard they get like 300 a day and only choose SEVEN drivers. I'm wondering what pushes those seven to the front of the list. Any ideas?

 

I put in my app last week. Called today to see if they had it. They told me to call back on Thursday and they would tell me if I was approved.
You just have to be proactive. Become a pushy salesman. It shows them that you are really wanting it!

 

Well I am sure common sense... and to be the best:

1. 100% filled out application. No blanks. I use N/A when needed so they know I read the app. Many people submit C R A P P Y apps.

2. NO SPELLING MISTAKES (that's a big one.. really)
3. Clean MVR
4. Good work history
5. Clean DAC - if appropriate
6. No criminal records of any type (some exceptions)

..I wouldnt even be surprised if they run a 'credit' check on you like insurance companies do. Most employers do that now as well.

So the cleaner you are in those areas, the better.
When I spoke to Alice and Deann, they were processing over 200+ applications/day - that was back in October 2009.

Call 1st. Get a recruiters name/ext. They do a mini-interview on the phone to see if you meet some qualifications. Then do the app on the internet
and 24hrs follow up with a call to verify they received it.

Like Jim says - BE PERSISTENT but not a pest or pushy....

With the economy and the amt of drivers out of work, companies can be very very picky as to whom they chose. You need to stand out...

I actually took a drive there and met with them as well as Mike Millis.
I wanted a face to go with my app. I was already approved at that point, but we are waiting on MTI 2010 schedule for training in WI.

Does millis ever run any to louisville or anywhere else in KY?

 

yes we do deliver to louisvlle ky some and we also deliver in ky south of cincinatti

 

hey spanky, are you runnin down in my area pretty much? do you know other guys that are runnin this area?

 

i do run over there some mainly just when i leave the house but they do have guys that run out of eden that all they run for the most part is north carolina

all i know is that they said they would like to open it back up asap but probally be in the early spring
