your per diem question is talked about in many places on this forum use the search key and yoll get your answers
From what I undersdtand you are only allowed to be on duty for 14 hours a day with only ten of those hours being behind the wheel. As per the federal government. I don't mean to say "only" like thats not a lot but when someone says "u can drive as many hours as you can get away with without putting it into the ditch" thats just not very good information. As far as the per diem, just about everyone says not to take it.
I think that per diem at Mills isn't bad. While it is hard to calculate and compare per deim or not, hhg miles or practicle miles, they have adjusted cpm for each combination so that it all comes out about the same. The reason I like Millis' per diem is because of the week vacation after 6 months and the way they calculate the vacation pay. After two years it may be better to switch to non per diem. My 2 cents
say whatever you'd like youll see if you think everyone out heres shutting it down after 11 hours then it is you who is the ### hat ill bet you also believe everyone out here is shutting it down for 34 hours after going 70 too lets see, wheres that ocean front property in arizona i can sell you .......
I dont think everyone is shutting down after 11. Only the smart ones and the legal ones. Anybody else is putting peoples lives in danger.
If you think "u can drive as many hours as you can get away with without putting it into the ditch" will help you out with the company, just wait to DOT nails you for over-hours or log book violations, then ask the company to pay for the tickets, or you wreck while over hours, just tell the company that you were trying to make all the $$$ you could, and see how long you keep your job. I'm not saying everyone drives legally, but to be on here as a student and throw around those comments, is just not smart......just my .02. Take care
not everyone needs 12 hours sleep to be safe on the road i for one dont take any unneccesary risks like i said ...keeping it out of the ditch i am all for being safe and getting it off the road when i can no longer go just a for instance ....what are you gonna do when your running the eastern half of the u.s. and you run out of hours and can't find a place to park the truck you can just as easily get tired after driving 4 hours as you can after 11 hours you have to be smart enough to recognize the signs and get off the road before you become a hazard to yourself or anyone else there is reality and then there's the world you live in
