listen alabama, maybe your disgruntled because your paying 2500. bucks for a 1 week class
after 6 months of researching this industry after 3 days you decided you couldnt handle it
reality isnt always easy
did it ever occur to you that when the truck is running the company is making money too?
what company did you work for that paid your log book violation tickets?
those are the responsibility of the driver ( you would know this if you hung with the program)
by the way my log book is ALWAYS legal
im not gonna keep going back and forth with this but heres the reality...
lets say you start your day at 7 am on I-80 going into NYC
now your on the cross bronx in bumper to bumper traffic trying to get over the bridge and to your destination
just as you come over the bridge theres a wreck adn traffic comes to a complete stop and you dont get through the mess for 3 hours
now its almost 12 oclock and you still have to get out to long island and youve only traveled 30 miles
you slowely proceed toward your next bridge where they have been doing construction for the last 30 years ( the throgs neck)
more traffic by the tolls and then your going over the span at 10 mph
ok its 12:30 you have now gone 40 miles and you get to the long island expressway
it takes you 10 minutes to merge on the that and then jjust when you think your rolling traffic comes to a crawl again for the next 10 miles
all because someone has a flat tire and everyone is rubber necking
you get to your pick up in brentwood by 3 pm
8 hours gone and youve gone 50 miles so far today
now you get there and you go to the on duty not driving line while they load your trailer
2 hours later they are done
you are now in your 10th hour and still sitting there at your pick up
youve done 50 miles today ....let see 50 miles X .30 = 15.00
no sense in leaving now because its rush hour and your already into your 10th hour ...where can you really go?
this is the reality of trucking ...not make believe
the other day it took us 4 hours to get through a wreck on the interstate ...i guess we should have logged all those hours too and gone to bed 260 miles further up the road then we had planned too
oh yeah and while your out with your trainer he needs to stay in passenger seat the entire time that your driving meaning he's gonna be out of hours very quickly so i guess youll be doing two 34 hour restarts every week
its a good thing you got out of the program when you did since you dont konw anything about flexibility and making things happen

I'am not disgruntled, I'm sitting at home with my family. The $2500, I am not rich, but that's not the first money I've had to pay. Yes I did the research and thought I might like it, but I tried it and didn't like it, did I make a mistake...nope, I learned something new and I learned something old...that my family is worth more to me than any amount of money I would have made driving. I am not disgruntled, I would tell anyone that Millis Transfer, seems like a good company and you will never hear me say anything bad about my time there (and it was 9 days not 3) I know they are people like you in every occupation (first day and they know it all), so good luck to you and let us know how it turns out for you when you get your own truck. Take care.davidh06 Thanks this. -
