Investigators say the officer was driving southbound on the freeway shortly after 4 a.m. and was approaching the Northeast 65th Street exit in North Seattle when a small black car intentionally rammed the patrol car from behind and then fled.
The impact caused the officer's patrol car to move across the lanes of traffic and onto the embankment. The officer was not seriously hurt.
All lanes of southbound I-5 in the area were blocked for several hours.

Seems like this genius was trying to commit suicide-by-cop and since the first try just wrecked a cruiser he tried the old tried and true "brandish a deadly weapon near a police officer" method. Glad they killed the fool. -
I know cops have been getting a bad rap lately. It's a shame a few bad apples brand all of them. At the end of the day, most officers risk their lives on the job and its lucky this guy gets to go home in the morning without injury.
