What is the minimum amount of gear you need when heading to training? Including clothes. I'll be heading to TX soon and have next to no belongs. Literally no jeans at all. Just slacks and shorts. But I want to pick up the gear I'll need at the least. Before I head out.

You don't need much to be a reefer driver. Just show up, be able to breath, and brush your teeth, thats about it.

Don’t think you’ll be needing any gear like for flatbed, but I’d bring boots, a rain jacket, and a hat. Enough clothes to last you 6 days and wash em at the hotel. Maybe some sunscreen.

650cat425 and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

Steel toe work boots. Don't get lace-up boots; get pull-on that are tall enough to cover the ankles.

3 pair of long work pants.
    3 long sleeve work shirts.
Can get this stuff pretty cheap at Salvation Army Store or Goodwill Store.
If money is tight, this is a good way to start out.
I've seen good work boots at both places.

Jeans are ok, but unless they're loose fit, they bind when you're driving hours at a time.
My preference is khaki or dark blue vs. jeans. That's not really important, just whatever you're comfortable with.

You'll need long sleeve work shirts pulling reefers.
Some drivers wear short sleeve and keep a light jacket in the truck to wear inside the refrigerated/frozen warehouses.
I prefer long sleeve western style work shirts, but again that's personal preference:
