Don’t forget some gloves. One pair for fueling, and I would recommend a separate pair for pre trip and such. Everything’s dirty. Might want some Clorox wipes as well.

I've decent tennis shoes when needed. Not steel toes. A comfortable pair of closed toe sandals. They're more like vented shoes. Got a pillow, jacket, toiletry bag, couple pairs of cheap gloves, and duffle bag. I'll need to get a sleeping bag.

Shop around; just because some are cheap, doesn't mean they aren't good, long lasting boots.

Bought 3 pair of expensive cowboy boots; average $200 per pair. One trip and decided they weren't suitable for me. Gifted them to my buddy in Salt Lake City, who isn't a trucker. He loves them.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
Plan for HOT. Sneakers are fine. You wont touch any frieght in class or after. Forget the long sleeves during class, tee shirts, about 12 and sunscreen. You'll probably need to change during lunch.
As for training and after consider sheets, pillows and blankets. Better temperature control. Maybe get a 3" foam mattress topper. Even the new mattresses are sketchy and the topper will make a big difference.
Don't expect to be assigned a trainer when you get done with classroom. Some I went through with waited over 4 weeks. You'll stay in a hotel or in the school's rooms while you wait or maybe go home and pick up your trainer at the new terminal.
The school looks like it's open. Parking lot is jammed. Gonna be a lot of people waiting for trucks.Wasted Thyme Thanks this. -
