Think he meant between the trucks as hardly anyone talks on the radio anymore or even has it on.

Normally such follies occur in the usual places (Wyoming,Pennsylvania,Iowa,Nebraska and once in a blue moon-Michigan).
There was a big wreck a few weeks ago on I-80 in Pennsylvania and there wasn’t a single snowflake on the ground yet!!
    (practice round,lol)

My thought exactly... look at the first 2 trucks at the front of the pileup... both trailers have the same logo... I'd bet they were trying to "Convoy" and one lost control causing a pileup because his buddy was following to close. Then the rest was just a chain reaction.

Elk Mountain is one place that can get ANYONE... I've seen very good, experienced hands get into trouble on Elk. The weather and wind up there can be BRUTAL and change in an instant. I will die on this hill, I-80 between Sidney, NE and Green River, WY is by far the most dangerous, unpredictable section interstate in the lower 48 when it comes to winter driving conditions.

You’re correct Wulfman75. Although there are warning signs, knowing what’s going on around the next curve can be the difference between laying in the median versus having ample time to react. Course if more drivers would pay better attention to what’s going on through the windshield, and less time on their phone or watching videos may help them avoid these situations….

I’ve eased up beside quite a few trucks and held my CB mic in their view trying to alert them of a problem, and get the negative head shake indicating they did not have a CB. Before cell phones became such a big thing, most drivers were at least listening in the event of a problem they couldn’t see….

Lol... well there are always the usual suspects that can get themselves into trouble on a nice calm, clear, sunny day with perfect driving conditions. Yeah I saw that, went past it on my way out a few weeks back.
