They say their data shows a 4% increase in fuel mileage by removing the mirrors. Not only that, but the visibility of the MirrorEye is so much better than a traditional mirror. In rain, snow, or ice, you still have a crystal clear image. The cameras even have night vision that renders the display to appear similar to daytime and also cancels out glare from sunlight or headlights. The mirrors also follow the rear of your trailer while backing or turning.
There is a chance a camera could go down but you will still have the other cameras functioning and not be blind. They have Mobil technicians and installers around the country that can service the system.

Someone took my driver side mirror couple weeks ago while I was placing emergency triages. It was a foggy day a day before the flooding and I was parked behind the hill on I-80 in Iowa. I lost a power to the unit and had just parked the truck on the shoulder. They barely touched the outside edge of my mirror but glass part was smashed on the ground and the plastic part with the motor was cracked. Cost me $800 for a new mirror plus labor.
I wonder how much these new camera mirrors cost. Where do they place the cameras? Knowing how tight are the roads in Europe I would assume that cameras are not sticking out from the sides as much as traditional mirrors.Another Canadian driver and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
