I saw a video of a system that M.A.N. uses in Europe, and those camera-mirrors are adjustable, can zoom-in, have different light settings (like, you can dim one if the sun is right behind you), and they also have a screen for nose cameras, so you can watch what your front bumper is doing. They ALSO have a line on the mirror showing you where your trailer bumper is, and will also have available backing lines (like the backup cameras on cars) which you can turn on. Another available screen can be used just like a car-style rear-view mirror, where it combines the images from both the side mirrors to give you a view from the center. So, if you get the FULL package, you'll have the side mirrors with standard view up on the upper 3/4, the fisheye view on the lower 1/4, a lower center screen with a view of the front bumper (defaults to fish-eye), and a high-up 'rerview' mirror. Also, you can turn these on even while you have your curtains drawn. A system like this would be just about perfect for the driver who does most of his driving in the I-95 northern corridor.
FWIW, I believe M.A.N. is part of PACCAR, so this setup might be coming to the U.S.
