    Oh I love the control of a manual (13 spds are awesome!), but aside from my injuries I would love the extra space created by not having the stick in the middle of the floor. One less thing to dodge, if you catch my meaning.

    If you have a fridge or a cooler in your truck, you will find that you don't need to run it all the time. Running it while the truck is running is often enough to keep things cold through your entire 10 hour break.

    People's diets on the road run the gauntlet. Mostly it depends upon how you eat in your non-trucking life. If you are a fast food junkie now, you probably will remain one. My husband will go weeks at a time without ever eating out when he is on the road. With a little creativity you can eat just about whatever you want while you are on the road.
