Miscommunication leads to forklift driver death

This was a very tragic misscomunication that has left family forever changed without this man. I was his gf of 2.5 yrs at this time. After speaking to him on that morning at 8.06am, some 30 min later he was gone. All truckers have alot of responsibility while on the job. Please dont skip a safety step just because you dont think it will matter if its skipped. Due to the lack of checking for his own self this truck driver has to forever carry the tragic mess of that day forever. As well as the Guard shack attendent. Its hard for us even now to think of how he died, and the affects it left on the family.

 

My terminal mgr at Watkins was loading a straight truck, when he hit the truck it rolled as the driver didn't set the brakes. We heard a loud crash, ran over to see him chasing truck across lot. Amazingly because he was loading carpet with a 10'pole on front of lift it caught tail and forklift ended up on its wheels.
