I have heard ad nausium....."Don't worry we get trucks in here all the time" or, "I get my pick up in my driveway so your boom truck should be no problem, just don't hit the trees"

    "Trucking is a recession-proof industry."

"Someone with a CDL can always find a job."

"You can easily make 45k a year", heard that from Werner Recruiter. It was hard to not laugh at her before I hung up.

    Wait... When was this?

I called Werner earlier today... A female Recruiter said the same thing, also told me that in two years time, I could be running my own small fleet of trucks.

And also that in five years, I can be put in charge of my own terminal... :biggrin_2556:

Another one that I hear every now and then...Log book pages are "numbered" so the DOT can tell if they're out of order or you tore one out.

Now that's one I've actually heard a few times myself...

    Is that actually true?

No....I run looseleaf logs and we order them by the case, When I need some log pages I just reach into the box and grab a pile of them.
No rhyme or reason to it and all the other drivers here do the same thing from the same box...If they were numbered, How would they keep them in order?

Besides...Look at your pages, There are no sequential numbers. (Some companies might number them but I've never seen it done.)

I'm not a trucker, yet. (Will be in a matter of time, right now I"m saving up money for Trucking School if I can't get into the Apprenticeship)
