The timeline isn't matching up with the convict who escaped. This driver was to pickup Friday AM and never showed, and the convict escaped on Saturday and was last seen at 3pm doing maintenance duty. I don't think that has anything to do with his disappearance since the timelines don't match. Has anyone contacted hospitals within the radius of where he last was. Has anyone asked if there was any accidents reported in the area that he was last known to be. Has his family contacted the cellphone carrier to see if they could do a search to see if they could locate his wear about, or a general vicinity..if the carrier won't do it for you then the police can make the call to the carrier and request a GPS search done. I know from the comments that the family has filed a missing person's report and is working with law enforcement in WA and MS. I just wish there was more information to go on like did they find the truck and no driver or are both missing. I know we used qualcom and it would tell us what city and state they were in...we then switched over to star satellite which would give us accurate ping of where the truck was, and we would send the police out to check on the truck. Can someone give us an update with more accurate information so that we can spread the word...I sure do hope that we can pull together and find him.

Ummm. I'm sure the police would be able to.figure out the hospitals or accident possibilities.

A carrier wont give up records unless court ordered .

And they stated the Qualcomm was not working.

When I dispatched and had drivers disappear the police told me that they would not call the hospitals and that was up to me to do. So I always searched for hospitals in the surrounding area and had to call. I would also have to contact state police and ask them if there was any accidents reported, and if not they would tell me to call the local police. We could not file a missing person's report for at least 24 hours, but we could report stolen equipment that would put an alert out to look for it, which I am sure they have. I have talked to sprint before because we used sprint's smartphone, and if the contract had the gps enabled then they could do it, but if it wasn't then the police department had to contact them and send the missing person's police report in order to work with the police. I personally have the gps enabled on my husbands phone just in case this was to happen to him, just as a peace of mind for me. I know the qualcom was disconnected...I was stating that the bad part about qualcom is that it gave you city and state..but when we switched over to star satellite it would ping it to the exact location, so that we could send the police out to search the area of where the truck was last pinged. The point is we all need to work together to help this person's family, and giving suggestions can help to give more information to send out to other drivers as well.

I wish I had known about this earlier. I was running right through that area during that time. Hoping for a favorable outcome.

Just to let everyone know who has been following this thread...I just saw on FB that US Xpress has confirmed that the truck and driver have been found pulled over on the side of Mississippi Hwy 16 and Sakib passed away in the cab :( not sure of any details but I came across this post when searching about him. RIP Sakib
