I have some experience with team driving. I'm female, had 7 partners in 6 months when started driving for Covenant. Teaming was mandatory for the first 6 months. I thought that would "help" me to get some confidence but after 2 weeks I was repented.... Had 3 female and 4 male partners.

Before I start, let me tell you,IF YOU ARE A MALE, PLEASE, DON'T TEAM WITH A FEMALE THAT YOU DON'T KNOW.

Unless you guys REALLY like each other, it doesn't work. :biggrin_25513:

In a few words, males and females do things very differently. Males will almost always have sexual interest in the females... females will want some male help and males will expect something in return for the help. If they don't get what they want, disagreement will start.... If males are married, I can almost guarantee their wives will not like that teaming...:biggrin_25513:

When I started teaming I got a female partner but she couldn't do anything without my help.... would get lost all the time, get stuck in places and wake me up to help her.... after 2 and half week, I got another female partner. This one would fight with me all the time for any reason, and wanted me to falsify my logs and work for her too. Besides, she would pee on the driver's seat when she couldn't make it to pee stop.... :biggrin_2552: Then I got a male partner because didn't want to wait too long for another female. This one said had 20 yrs experience (not that I cared and never expected any male to "help" me because in this situation no "help" is free... :biggrin_25511: I never discussed my private life with him, it was none of his business, I was pretty green driver, he got very impatient with me, my backings, was too slow for him.... very soon I realized that wasn't working.... He got very disrespectful, angry, screaming, almost violent, and threatened to kick me out of "his" truck in the middle of AZ desert. Then, got another male partner... This one wanted sex, was alcoholic, and when he realized I wasn't going to give it to him we split. Got another female partner, this one was the best partner I had. We would not even see each other, I would drive, she would sleep and vice versa. But she wanted to go home, got upset with dispatcher and quit company. My next partner was another male, Cuban guy. I had my suspicion it would not work but by that point, I was thinking, What the heck... I just need some more weeks to finish this nightmare and will be "free" solo!!! He, as most latin males, was very macho type, wanted me to "obey" him, would not let me do my job the way I needed.... but very soon he also quit company and I drove truck back to terminal. Then, got a last partner, Mexican male.... I had only a few days left to finish my teaming. This one told his wife he was teaming with a male. :biggrin_25523: And would stop every time we drove near his town to see his family and I had to hide in the sleeper berth.... he couldn't speak, read or write in English (I can speak English and Spanish). But he left truck after over a week because he couldn't continue teaming with a female... :biggrin_25523:

When I finished my 6 month mandatory teaming, company told me they were not allowing anybody to go solo.... WTF!?! :biggrin_2556::biggrin_25510:

But I drove solo for a while anyway cause I would not put up with more of that *&#, male and female. And after that I got into a dedicated division where I drive solo and I am satisfied.:yes2557:

Anyway, my best advice to you is DON'T TEAM WITH A FEMALE UNLESS YOU WANT TROUBLE.

    BEST LUCK TO YOU.:biggrin_25519:

We met at company terminal in Pomona, CA. He and his family were living somewhere not very far from that area. We ran in California the whole time. Twice we had to go to company terminal in French Camp, Ca. One of those times, he got off the truck near terminal for his wife to pick him up and take him home for the night. I had to hide in the sleeper berth when she came. Then, we were driving somewhere in Ca... can't remember where and he called his wife and asked her to meet him at a truck stop for a couple hrs and bring the kids and some food.... Again, I had to go in the sleeper berth... We teamed for OVER A WEEK ALMOST 2 and I can remember going in the sleeper berth AT LEAST TWICE. Story IS TRUE... believe it or not... I got very pissed with him wanting to see his family all the time and not being able to communicate in English.... and told him in Spanish he should find another job... I guess he got upset and maybe this was his reason to leave....
