Mixing Tire Sizes

    Newer ABS and EBS systems support different tire size, but you need to reprogram ABS control unit.

    Everething depend on ABS unit number. Wabco ABS units got this feature in end of 90s, Bosch/Knorr/Bendix in early 2000s. So post control unit #. Mercedes included small table with tire size in its diagnostic program and I use this table when I do tire size reprogramming. Pay attention that pole ring may differ with 80, 100 and 120 pulses per revolution, but on class 8 trucks 100 p/rev rings are used generally.

    Never use different tires on drive axes, the only axe may differ - steer axe.

    Hi Guys!

    Since I posted that I was able to secure 4 more Michelin recaps sized 11 r 24.5. I will most likely change them over to 22.5s next time as these things are just too hard to find. I appreciate all the info.

    Can i use 11R 22.5 on the 2nd axle and 24.5 low pro on the 3rd axle ?
