Costco around my area pays around $25-26 an hour. Not sure if it'll be the same in PHX.
Only downside is NO OT. Strickly 8 or 40 per week. Easy job though...just drop and hook. Really nice equipment...KW's and Volvo's. They have some automatics too. Lots of night work. But other than that...a cake job. At least this is how it is in the NE. It may be different in PHX.

PUBLIX has contracted some of their work to RUAN TRANSPORT, there needing drivers to work out of the PUBLIX DC in B`ham,Alabama. The AD mentions 70k a year.

SWIFT is hiring too for the WAL-MART grocery division, from what i hear WM is getting restless because their grocery trailers are getting to the stores late due to a shortage of driver`s.

Costco in Tracy is hiring for local drivers right now. Not sure on pay though.
I’ve thought about applying at SuperValu or Schunks in St. Louis. I’m holding back because I’m not sure I want to do the union thing again. Didn’t like it the first time I did it. -
Anyone know the word on Giant & Weis transportation jobs?
Keep seeing packs of them on i81. -
Giant is Union. They're ALL pretty much Union. Progressive payscale too...so it'll take YEARS before you reach top rate...around 3-5 years. ACME and SuperValu takes about 3-4 years to reach top rate. Wegmans starts around $21-23 I believe and you get a .50 cent raise every 6 month's...no cap. Food Haulers takes about 5 years to reach top rate. Giant I think takes about 8 years and you start off around $19 an hour...top out around $28-30 I believe. Something to think about...if you can't wait YEARS to reach top rate.

I was on the road this week, paid attention to grocery trucks. The local Kroger chain, Frys, uses Ruan to pull branded trailers. So out here the fleet option would be Albertsons/Safeway.
There is a chain called Bashas but I rarely see their trucks and haven't gotten a look at a cab yet. They have stores in some interesting places like Bagdad, which is otherwise a mining company town. Likely that agreement goes back a fair bit. -

Not quite sure how this is gonna affect the beverage industry...but Coke has been on a strike for about a week now. I know Frito Lay had a chips shortage when they decreased their pay by 33% and a drivers wound up quitting....
