I screwed with the gal weighing me in Laurel last week. I had 3500 gallons of caustic soda in a 7000 gallon tank (usually use one of our 4200 gallon Brenners, but they were being used elsewhere). I got the liquid moving quite well when I stopped before the scale, weighed the steer, waited probably 30 seconds for it to stabilize. Meanwhile, trucks are stacking up behind be. Weighed drives, and I'm watching her look at her readout and the officer behind her is LAUGHING and looking at me because he knows what I'm doing! After a solid 30 seconds, she just waved me off the scale and got green lighted for the road. I love smoothbores.

I find New Mexico and Oregon are the worst.

Minnesota has turned all the Petro's into yuppie hang outs. ND is following suit. Go figure.

Being based in California, I can't find much to complain about in other states. I'd rather live in most of them.

Our fleet of about 250 trucks runs across I-90 quite a bit. We used to be on EZPass, we're now on BestPass but as far as Montana is concerned, the results remain the same, in the past 3 years, I'd estimate I get a red pass light 1 out of maybe 12-15 times at the Rocker, Laurel, and the Haugan scales, either direction. IIRC none of them have pre-weigh sensors so weight is not an issue as far as the pre-pass system goes.
