it's not hard to check your brake adjustment. all you gotta do is crawl under neath and look. if the brake isn't touching the drum, it's out of adjustment. the bigger the gap between brake and drum. the farther out the push rod goes. (longer swing).

in 1983 while driving for ploof truck lines of j,ville, fl another guy and I were coming down eagle with sheetrock from shoals,in. we didn't have jakes and I kept seeing his brake lights come on and off, I told him he was going to get em hot, he went in the ramp and thru it, I pulled off in the pull off area, just past the ramp, ran back up and he was standing there scared to hell and back. when he went off the back of the gravel pile the landing gear dug down and and stopping him, he was in a cabover . the guy was from Salisbury,nc and last I heard became a preacher.

That's an '83 Freightliner. I was talking about the Binder earlier though.
I started with the Binders and the GMC Astros.

Even my first days of driving and hitting Cabbage ,I used the jab brake effect and lowest gear possible. And at that time I thought it was bc I was new that this woman FLEW by me at at least 80-90 mph.. I remember thinking to myself, well I'm just never going to do that... And never have, but other trucks still give you he finger when they fly by you....ugh.

it is a builders transport freightliner to be more specific. most were governed at 55 , I first drove one of those green machines in 1979, that was right after they took away my orange and white j and m truck lines kenworth I had when I came to builders after they bought out j and m. a safety guy tried to catch me on I-95 by santee cooper lake in a car and he couldn't , when I arrived at sav terminal they gave me a week off without pay and took my truck and gave me a green machine.

Just like the ones that blow by over the speed limit and it's snowing so hard you can't see and six inches deep on the road. Then they act like you're the problem.

I experienced a lot of that when I ran a Michigan dedicated run every week for a few years.
