He certainly got a great view of it then. I mean the very top. Also in front of us was a guy who blew a turbo going down. He got the bottom, announced the truck was for sale and he was done with it. Im used to mountains as I go through Wyoming and Oregon every week (Cabbage is horrifying the first time you do it, after that it's not terrible, gorgeous view though), not to mention I-90 from Auburn Wa usually on the way out. I get excited over Monteagle though, means I am almost home.

Wow, I don't see how anything could have the momentum to get up there either. I always thought bogging in that soft gravel bed would play hell with the steering wheel too.

Why he was pulling a roadway trailer is beyond me, but I remember him doing it several times.
I seem to remember that the 9th and 10th gear were switched around....whatever that did

9th and 10th switched was commonly referred to as georgia Overdrive in the day--or goin up against the dash--BUT--the reason mostly was dues to size of transmission case--and flip floping 9/10 allowed for a larger cog in 10th--thus a taller gear
I know it is oversimplified-but I think it makes the point
