Nice little road, Im not enjoying that potential rock fall though. Would not want to hang around there anymore than I have to.

I came down while they were cleaning up the rollover and pulling the runaway of the ramp.

Still people smoking brakes entire time.

    Hot loads coming!

    That's an awesome road! LOL

I run Loveland Pass westbound regularly, when I can't make tunnel height. Not a bad drive now, not much fun in the winter with the idiot gashaulers and skiers on ice pack.

Well at least they had enough of a brain to use the ramps instead of doing worse.

I went down Monteagle Wednesday. Inhad 43000 in the box......with the Jake on, I went down in 7th gear with the flashers on. I'm not sure if some drivers had proper mountain training. I went to truck driver school in Murfreesboro and we had to practice there. A lot of drivers see 45 mph truck speed, but what they don't understand is that only applies to trucks that are empty, or loaded at 35000 or less. It was so many drivers hauling boogie past me....I got to the bottom and I could smell so many brakes. The fact that the runaway truck ramp is on the left, should make drivers want to take it easy because it's a real chance that a truck can't get to that ramp if it's out of control

I think the vast majority of trucks who "smoke brakes" going down such hills are those grossing 50-60k lbs. they think they're "light" and they can get away with extra speed and some "moderate braking" to keep speed in check. Problem is it doesn't take a lot of braking action at those higher speeds to generate intense heat in just a few seconds.

seen a guy (or gal don't want to discriminate) flying down the grape vine smoking brakes with a chips hauling ### behind him (not sure why he wasn't out front ) kept it upright but sure that wasn't a cheap ticket
