If you want to drive OTR and have a clean driving record, the owner operator I drive for pays $1500 per week minimum or 30-35% gross pay to the truck, whichever is more.

The con is it's driving teams, if you insist on running solo, he won't guarantee your weekly pay, just percentage.

You need to make yourself more valuable.

Get your endorsements, and learn to drive a 10 speed.

We do dry van, just dry van, but we do hazmat and go to far away exotic places. Guys make around $100K year.

Do you get that much for moving paper towels across I-10 and I-40? No. You get $2000 a month for that.

Right now I'm not driving and I make $500 a week after tax,401k,insurance.and I work from home and I'm off work at 2:30 in the afternoon. I also get about a $500 - $600 bonus check every month.

Compare my job to yours and you can see you deserve better pay. Time to jump ship. Take a look at the tankers forum. More money and in my opinion easier, safer work. Good luck.

And those jobs are few and far between, especially if its OTR.

I’ll run 550-600miles every day if they let me. With e logs and a 65mph truck.
I stop for restrooms and a 30min lunch and it’s back to driving. But like now I’ve got a 1100mile run but 4 days to do it and by appointment early, no relay or drop lot available. I’m 60miles from my delivery on day two.

Good luck. Those companies will probably hire you.
I could never be happy, not running the roads. Some drivers like staying inside their zip code and some of us have wanderlust.

I think Freymiller gives a choice of auto or stick shift transmission.
