I read something somewhere and another driver was complaining of the hinges egging out and causing a vibration/rattle like you're referring to. I'll have to look into it a little more I think. I'm not worried about it hurting my mpg. It's going on a W9 so not much more it can hurt on the front of a rolling brick.
Moose Bumper, considering the Ali Arc or Herd. Thoughts?

On mine the hinges are steel wings with a 1 inch bolt between them. I actually snapped the bolt and had to put a new one in about 2 months ago. Mine has the 2 bolts in the front aswell. They are a pita, gotta be a better way there for sure. However, still better than the alternative.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

That's disheartening. Looks like it's not as easy as grabbing whatever I can find and installing it. I'm not trying to get into any mess like that. For the amount of money these things cost I was thinking they would have decent sealed bearing type hinges. Or at least something better than a 1 inch bolt.shooter19802003 Thanks this.

Lol, I agree. You would think for the price it would be something better. Atleast they are easy to replace though. Like 5 minutes or less. The 2 big eye bolts in the front are 1/4 turn or so. That is what holds the aluminum bumper to the steel sub frame. Then there are some rubber blocks behind it. The eye bolts are a stupid design. I use my winch bar on them. Just easier. It just takes like 4x as long as it should to open the hood.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

Only rattle on mine was the safety pin that you use to loosen the two eyelets I ran a strip of duct tape around it where it wasn’t visible that took care of rattling

Ahhh, glad you brought up the pin, I totally forgot. So the pin up front will rattle to no end and drive you insane. Mine is actually starting to wear through my bumper. The pin is steel and just sits in a hole via gravity in the aluminum bumper. I went down to the Napa about 2 weeks ago and bought a can of undercarriage spray and I put like half the can on that pin. Doesn't rattle now...lol. took most of the slack out of it. It is wearing a shelf were the underside of the top of the pin sits in the bumper. Not sure how I'm going to solve that. When I get my truck back from the alignment, I will post pics.Magoo1968 and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this.
