I think we're better off without the air starter though...

You got me remembering the one time I drove an air starter truck. Moved a deck set of slam worn out CF single screw shaker daycabs from Dallas to Atlanta. I made the setup crew run air to both rear tractors so I could use their tanks as reserves. Not that I was stupid enough to turn the thing off.

Spring ride, no a/c, no radio, no air seat, no clutch brake, no #### power either. Shifter had the confidence inspiring crispness of an oar. Always the shifter you want on a straight 7 speed.

    OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

Drove a 81 Cabover Shaker with a 300 Formula and a straight 7 SPD, hated that thing. Hauling Microfoam / Styrofaom wasn't bad but steel.... it was gutless.
