I think that depends on location and whether or not there’s a sign posted. MD apparently frowns on it but I’ve seen those signs on the PA Turnpike and 81 in VA.

If we are complaining about loghts, let's not forget about the new LED lights on ambulances. Yes it's nice others see you when you stop, but there really isn't a need to output the same brightness as the sun and blind everyone behind you everytime you slow down.
Yes I know, not the EMT's fault, but still......tscottme, ducnut, God prefers Diesels and 13 others Thank this. -
We deliver to a couple of emergency vehicle upfitters and wondered if those led lights, brake and turn signal, were available to the public.ZVar, Crude Truckin', D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this.

What??
No.
The rear slow mover needs to jump into 60+ mile/hour traffic doing 25 after being stuck behind the slow movers, and all lanes are now with flashers on.God prefers Diesels, Cat sdp, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
Yes, and I one that doesn't like that. When I am following a truck and I see brake lights, I am looking for the reason why. Just controlling speed on a mild grade does not warrant brake lights in my mind, right or wrong.ducnut, God prefers Diesels, IH Truck Guy and 15 others Thank this.

Pretty much all that stuff is available online nowadays. Truck and Tow is the one that comes to mind, they have the full selection of Whelan light bars strobes and controllers.RockinChair, Feedman, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this.

I've been seeing some of the wood chip wagons lately with those amber strobes flashing. Saw a couple in Mississippi the other night with 2 strobes on the trailers. And saw one on a Schneider trailer too.
Those things are not only irritating but they are so bright it can screw up your night vision.God prefers Diesels, Feedman, D.Tibbitt and 4 others Thank this. -
I use flashers more often these days for the simple fact that nobody is paying attention anymore and have their heads hanging looking at the phone. Just another thing I can tell the officer if I get rear ended. I did everything I could to warn the people I was moving slow.
ducnut, God prefers Diesels, JC1971 and 2 others Thank this. -
Schneider is putting a strobe on the newer trailers that flashes amber for a few seconds when the brake lights come on and then it turns solid red. It’s not nearly as annoying as the ones I’ve seen that have constant strobes.ducnut, gentleroger, TheLoadOut and 1 other person Thank this.
