He broke down and was waiting on the wrecker.Bizzarrogeorge, God prefers Diesels, WildTiger1990 and 4 others Thank this. -
Do you believe that? Really?
JonJon78 Thanks this. -
Did you even read the story that you posted?Bizzarrogeorge, God prefers Diesels, bryan21384 and 2 others Thank this.

I am amazed how often these accidents happen.
Not hard to see why facial recognition for fatigue, or lane departure sirens have and will make their way into our lives. More incrrochemt but obviously needed.bryan21384, JonJon78, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes and no. I can see where your coming from and can even agree with the logic to an extent. But i lean more heavily towards we need to have stricter screening of WHO can drive a truck and also need to fix ELDs. A lot of fatigue is caused by people racing the computer. There is no more "oh im sleepy i should take a 2 hour nap. And just drive 2 more hours then park for 8 hours instead of 10." Combine this with many megas scheduleing loads nose to tail with if your lucky only minutes built in for any delays and such forcing drivers espeically new and inexperinced ones in fear of losing their job to drive well past what is safe.
Honestly there are issues with trucking top to bottom from all sides that need addressing.Gearjammin' Penguin, 48Packard, Snailexpress and 1 other person Thank this. -
While sleeping in the back.
Really? -
From the story.
I broke down once and sat on the shoulder of a two-lane for 3+ hours before help arrived. I waited sitting in the grass about 50' away against a farm fence. The weather was nice, but if it wasn't I'd probably be in the sleeper too, knapping or not.bryan21384, mjd4277 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
It took about an hour for a wrecker to show up for me no thanks to a Penske truck dropping his driveshaft on I-70 westbound outside of Kansas City a year and half ago. When the driveshaft hit my truck,it knocked a fitting off one of the air lines, causing me to lose all of my air(both to the air brakes AND the transmission) in about 10 SECONDS!!
After damaging my truck the driveshaft punched a hole in my reefer’s fuel tank, causing that to piss out all 50 gallons of Pilot’s finest go-go juice and creating a hazmat response situation!Gearjammin' Penguin, silverspur and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Driver breaks down waiting for a tow truck and ends up in a BBQ. That's a tough break there. Sometimes you just
can't help where you break down.
