By far California. There is nothing it doesn't have. Forests, desert, mountains, plains and beaches. Yes, there may be places that have beautiful beaches, but no mountains, plains, but no forests, etc. California has it all!
Too bad nuts are running(ruining) the state.Blue jeans, Diesel Dave, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this. -
I grew up in utah, its pretty but west VA gets the most beautiful state award. Mountains, trees, rivers. I would LOVE to get a home deep in the mountains near a stream in the woods as far from other humans as i can get, set it up entirely off grid and then retire there someday. Alaska is a close second and would win save for how hard making someplace independant and off grid far from annoying people it would be.

I also vote for Utah. There is nowhere in this State that is dull, drab or boring to look at. The WHOLE State is beautiful!!!!

The scenery was pretty bland except for a few parts on 80. Didn't get interesting til I got close to Utah. Flaming gorge park was awesome the reddish rock formationsLast edited: May 16, 2021
