One road that I thought was reasonable but had turns that ruled out routine use by a semi with a 53' trailer, that is taking U.S. 250 south from U.S. 22 towards I-70 in Ohio going south towards Wheeling WV. It looked good on the map, and I was traveling south down U.S. 250, then, Past the intersection with U.S. 22, this good road gets into some really serious curves, requiring the use of the other lane to make turns, I did'nt see any advise signs beforehand. These curves were really tight, and this part of U.S. 250 cant really be used by a large truck, and my rand mcnally atlas doesnt have it as a restricted route.
Most dangerous routes.

Just wondering, do you see windmills on that road? There are so many windmills around there that you can see along I-10. -
the windmills don't show up until you get to the bottom of the mountain and hit CA 111 heading westbound.

US 60 in W Va. from Belle W Va to I 64, back in the 80's.

If you feel that road is bad you havent seen anything. Ive hauled oversize through there a few times. It gets a little hairy at times but that is nothing compared to alot of places. -
Oversize would make any road interesting, ive seen a couple oversize tooling down WY220 to WY287 between casper and rawlins before. I saw a excort coming and he's hollering NB you got a 15' wide load coming at ya, so I take to the shoulder as close to the snow bank as I can get and this guy just clears me by 2 inches going 60 mph. That was a close call, and there was 3 more of the same load coming in behind him.

Heres my list of roads that are either a pita or just plain dangerous.
US60? in NW arkansas that runs from mt homes to bentonville, Gets super twisty and lots of elevation like the dragon around Eureka springs area.
US20 in western Mass. connects albany NY to pittsfield Ma. Bunch a hairpins and "heavily settled" sighns
US 250 Akron Ohio to wheeling WV. First you get 30 miles of non stop amish country, where horse and buggies pop out of no where. Then you get the last 75 miles to WV of roads identical to the dragon.
PA309, PA87 and US 6 and US 11 in NE PA. If you ever get sent to proctor gamble in tunkhannock or mahoopany hold on to your shorts especially if your doing it at night and in the rain for the first time. Its not really super twisty but theres endless blind spots and your almost always 80k and its quite narrow. Mahoopany is only like another 10 miles from tunk but its like 500-1000 feet in elevation difference seemingly. I want to say its something like a 9% grade through there and twisty. -
how about the steepest grade in the world at 38% http://www.bikereader.com/contributors/Ainsley/hills.html

Sonora Pass, CA 108, 26% grade. Takeing a truck is just stupid going that route but yet people still try and get jackknifed or high centered on the rocks because you cannot make the switchback turns.

Someone mentioned Amish, US 20 in northern IN east of the South Bend bypass. US 52 in MN just north of Iowa around Canton. Iowa 150 south of Oelwein. US 18 from west of Fennimore, WI to near Montfort. I'm sure there are more enclaves other than the area around Lancaster, PA.
Crooked twisty and hard grades, IN 37 south of Bloomington is hairy for the first time after dark, maybe I was lucky not to see some of those drops, and it was steep enough to hit the low side with an MT.
