After being out for a couple weeks I would suggest just taking clothes (warm if in winter obviously), take a cold weather sleeping bag. My mentor is an owner who hates to idle his truck so I freeze. The best thing I bought before hand without even knowing it is a face mask, maybe this is more so for flatbed but that three dollar thing paid for itself immediately.

I am going to Centrals school in jan and just had a few questions for any other central drivers. First of all, overall experience good or bad? how do they treat their employees? How are their miles can u get any good runs? And last of all how is their equipment are they good about maintaining the trucks?

I'm going to be following this :) Hubby is here in Sac going through school now - and will be headed to Fontana to start there on the 3rd (at least that's the plan)... once he gets to Fontana its to start orientation and training... so I'm not sure if you are asking about 'school' or 'training'. Welcome though :yes2557:

You need to report that dude. He should have at least a Webasto in the bunk for heat. I do admire you if you tough it out though. When I went through training it was a trainer for 3 weeks and an advanced trainer for 3 more. The advanced trainer I had was one of the biggest dirt bags and worst drivers you could imagine. I just crossed off the days, just wanted my own truck. :biggrin_25524:

This dude always got advances, would get lot lizards, never did his laundry in 3 weeks, and got lost going to CA on I10. Upset him when I said " Ya know its west of everything except Japan. "

Id report the dude if I were you. You said mentor so im guessing your at Swift. Or give him a bad report when your finished. Good luck.

I'm not one to name drop but I do have a contact way up who will hear all about it, good, bad and indifferent when I am all done. It is swift. I know what is right and what isn't because I researched and luckily I can differentiate between the two, the next student might not.
