hey Coal Bucket...no way in hell the military is letting you unload a tank or self propelled howitzer, which is on your truck....never going to happen...i know i was in the military...
one other thing..like i said i was in the military and if i wasn't qualified to drive it,there was no way i was driving it...and you not even being in the military there was no way you were ever going to drive it..nice try!!!!Last edited by a moderator: Jan 24, 2010

An M-1, Bradley, 113 etc, are all easy to drive. I have not driven a howitzer, but I am guessing the controls are the same as a 113.
If he was hauling it to a port for shipment then most likely there were no military personel at the harbor.
In that case they would expect the driver to take it off the trailer.
Also, contractors run military equipment all the time, all the way up to our jet aircraft that is in testing. -
if they were going to port the military or the contractors would be there to oversee everything...i know contractors can drive the vehicles but HIGHLY unlikely he was qualified by the government to drive them...he was transpoting them for the government..

First of all ..... where do i begin... I wasnt working for the military directly... i worked for the private contractor that rehabs them....That makes me a sub contractor for the contractor not the goverment.... ever seen the show on tlc or discovory or history channel where they start the rebuild process in ohio? Welp that same company that starts the process in ohio then ships them to PA to get finished...The pa branch is who we worked for... In pa they finish the electronic guidence systems and alot of other wirering and electronic details.... Now if there is any one who pulls for landstars rgn fleet that hauls them to texas and nc you know the place im talkin about..... Where they are loaded, they load them for you, no outriggers no load... Now we hauled them to the port of baltimore and off load ourselves...port regulations....If we were loading at the port they would half to load for you....at the port those tanks are treated no differntly than any other peice of molbile equipment.....Have you ever seen a longshoreman do anthing that they wernt regulated to do?.....Me either....Make sense? Yeah well not to me etheir, just the way it was.. Dont belive me? Dont care, got nuthin to prove....Havent hauled them in quite a few years... Pretty sure they dont even come down to Baltimore anymore.. They are very easy to drive, were given instructions at load end...Which then made us qaulified to drive them .. Kindda like the cdl mill you got your liscense from, their not a goverment agency either but you got your lliscense anyway right?.... You didnt expect to call someone you dont know a liar and get off easy did you? Not only that but they got to be easy to drive the military even lets the ARMY drive em!! LOL... Besides since when does a military contractor have to follow the same rules as the military? My friends that work for blackwater sure dont!
The Challenger, Mooniac and Swaps Thank this. -
Hey Brickman, if i may what did you have to edit? just asking cause ive only seen staff edits for links, lanuage, or if someone got banned or something like that.... are there more reasons than i know of? I dont care what it was on the other one there, just still fairly new on here tryin to keep my nose clean....
