Their hardware repair department is US-based in Rochester, Minnesota. Typically they do a decent job, but it looks like they did not in your case. Their software customer service is Europe-based and can be a bit more, challenging. How long ago did you get this replacement? And what model did they replace it with? Because if you sent a 430 then it had to be out of warranty right? So they charged you for repair? And you should have a working comparable replacement as a result. Have you told them that the one they sent has GPS signal issues and a screen problem?

Yes it was clearly out of warrenty. I wanted to get it fixed vs. upgrading because I had recently purchased the map updates for it.
The screen being slightly crooked was big deal.
Signal Issues I thought might be from location and or overcast but I was wrong.
I have not called and I don't beleive they charged me any more than the orginal $20 for repair.
Maybe I should call them. -
so we have to pay for the updates or what.
i've had my unit for 18 months now. never been out of the truck so it's never been updated.
i also have the software on my phone to which that has the username registration tied into it. but the phone gets the operating system reloaded every so often and i always have to redownload the maps on it. so that one is probably updated. just need to do the handheld unit.
yes i'm a nerdie on my phone. they never keep the stock software. always gets a cooked platform off the internet. i don't beleive in keeping my phone with it's restricted limited software. i like it hacked. -
If you have never updated the unit in your truck with a computer then there are several map updates newer available for it. What model is it? -
it says 450. don't ask me what map version cuz i went into settings and didn't find anything from what your post said should be.
i bought it first part of june last year. and never updated. i'm happy with the way it works. -
You will see a like that says something like "Data: ALK.NA.2011..."
The latest version will say "2011.04" in there and next week it will be available for 2012.02.
To update it, download CoPilot Central at: http://www.noeticinc.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=mapsure&Store_Code=PCM
1. Install CoPilot Central
2. Connect the PCM450 and turn it on. Wait till it says connected on the screen.
3. Start CoPilot Central and make sure that it sees your 450 by not saying "no device found" in the upper-left.
4. Click "Create Account" and create a free one-time account.
5. Click "Maps / Get New Maps / North America / Download
6. Then wait 1 - 4 hours (depending on how fast your internet connection is.)
7. Wait for it first to "Download" and then to "Transfer"
8. When it's done transferring, turn OFF the PCM and disconnect it from the computer.
9. When you turn it back on, go to the "About CoPilot" Screen and check the "Data: ALK.NA.?" version now. -
mine says 2010.03.4.3.2.1
i'm not having any luck with getting anything started here. account registration or anything. per your instructions or the copilot websight. guess i'll have to call tech support.
