I knew a guy who knows a guy who ran Chicago to Los Angeles non stop. That's roughly 2,050 miles for you newbs.
Governed at 65, I fueled before stopping in a rest area. Ran the next day and did not stop (cept to pee) East on 80 from one rest area to another, 636 miles, only one or two pee breaks all day. Haven't been close to that since this 30 minute break thing started...
The more times you bump your tires the better. With tires, overkill is good. How many steering wheel holders bump once a day or not at all? They are the ones on the side of the road with a blowout. Also, a good habit to get into is take a visual under the truck as you walk up to it for any leaking fluids on the ground. Also, oil on the inside sidewall on the tires from a leaking wheel seal.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. ########20#
The Drivers door is the "Left" door, Keep it shut and hammer down! I just think all of this is possible. I wish you luck.
Most in one day? Just shy of 1400. Phoenix to Spokane. I was in a truck governed to 67 mph. I felt that one. I've done several 900 - 1100 mile days, but it hurts to do that, anymore. I don't much do that, these days, but I try to knock out 700, or so, per day. Of course, I don't run with an electronic babysitter, either.
Did you forget to read the question? He said 24 hours not what you run non stop. You ain't turning chicago to LA in 24 hours. If you have to explain that to somebody its actually kinda sad. Lol Most miles 1232 on the hub. Total time driving was 18 hours maybe a little less the rest of the time was spent fueling or loading. And over half of those miles were on a 2 lane with a 60mph speed limit. Most miles on a trip came last week. 1462 on the hub. 36 hours on 8 hours a sleep. Beatrice, NE to faith, SD back down to Circle ville KS. Slicker than sheets at a 5 star for 300 miles or so. Nasty night but I survived. Of that 36 hour took me 5 hours just to make it 120 miles. Yep only time you would've seen a loaded bull wagon running 20mph loaded on an empty highway
813 miles in one 24 hour period. This was in a truck governed at 62 with elogs - all legal. With paper logs, slightly more (but probably less than 1000).
