Do you own a white Volvo and a brand new Great Dane?

You sound exactly like the driver I was talking to a few weeks back in Washington.

I have some money put up. Not 50k, but enough. And I have a line of credit, yes.

I’m 28, no wife no kids no home, I live on the road.
Truck is new and trailer is new, still making payments on it.
Enough mechanical knowledge to change my oil and duct tape something and get me to the TA, that’s it.
I do not have a good lawyer, or an accountant.

thanks for the advice, it’s definitely noted.

    @Passoverlamb47 --

You need at least a year of driving experience (along with a clean MVR)...before I can make any worthwhile suggestions.

Also: you REALLY need to go ahead....in the meantime....and get that HAZMAT endorsement.

Those endorsements are door-openers....and money-makers!!! :Transportation cost

I know you’re right about both of those. Mvr is spotless.

The most profitable lane is the fast lane, ya can't make fast miles in the slow lane.

You don’t need hazmat as an owner operator. Better yet, get a quote from your insurance company for hauling hazmat and then decide :)

Only endorsement that’s good to have with dry van is tanker endorsement so you can haul the liquid totes.

Best of luck to you .. it sounds like your financial affairs are in order if you can get new equipment.. disregard all the negativity so many new threads on truck ownership the crowd gets jaded after awhile .. living on the road you can pick areas that work for you at different times of the year .

All kidding aside, how long has your career been?

    5 years?

    10 years?

Do you have your own authority or just running under someone's authority?

    Siinman Thanks this.
