"Authorities have said they DO NOT believe an attack was imminent and ARE NOT EVEN CERTAIN one would have occurred."
So, where's the BEEF?
"The PARENTS were indulging the boy's interests....."
Hmmmmmmmm
"PARENTS" is plural.
So WHY was Michele Cossey the ONLY parent arrested?
What "crime" was committed?
Is stupidity illegal?
MaN-0-MaN!
If just THINKING about doing a bad deed will getcha jail time, how many Big truck drivers would be behind bars for thoughts about their dispatcher?
If a Big truck driver thinks bad thoughts, will their mommies be arrested, too?
Fact: The boy DIDN'T shoot anyone.
And I doubt a jury would convict based on what MIGHT have happened.
Perhaps it WOULD have, but we'll probably never know. Unless the Thought Police have methods they're not telling us about.
A disaster MIGHT have been prevented, and it's always better to be safe than sorry. But to convict anyone based on what they were thinking, would sure open the flood-gates for more arrests, based only on speculation.

This isn't the Thought Police, Shockey. The boy DID confess to plotting something. You can't convict someone for stupidity, but this kid needs watching, not guns.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The mother of a 14-year-old who authorities say had a cache of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack was charged Friday with buying her son three weapons.
Michele Cossey bought her home-schooled son, Dillon, a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9 mm semiautomatic rifle, authorities said. The teenager felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy for the possible attack at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in suburban Philadelphia, authorities said.
Police officials told NBC News that the boy had confessed to plotting the attack.
Acting on a tip from a high school student and his father, police on Wednesday found the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence-filled notebooks in the boy's bedroom, Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. said.

My boys and I have many many guns!!!!!
We are not brain dead!!!!
We are in the midst of living our freedom!!!!!
To take this away, is the down fall of democracy!!!!
Or is that the goal? -

If we are to keep our freedom, she shouldn't be charged.
It unfair that she buys guns legally, and now she is charged for not knowing what her teenage child thinks.
If this was the case we all would be in trouble.
So the libs want abortion on demand without parents knowledge.
But if the kid kills with a gun, his parents better know what she is thinking or else? -
How many parents actually have an open line of communication with their kids anymore? It's difficult to know what they are thinking. My oldest comes to me all the time with problems that most boys wouldn't discuss with their mother. But my youngest, yeah, he lets me find out from someone else, and then I'm steaming. LOL
I feel for these parents, but I also feel that it is their job to deflect his interest into something else, when there are obvious dangers involved. JMO
