No she really isn't. All she taught the boy was that being "arrested" isn't as scary as she probably told him it was. Nothing happened, he's fine. He'll realize this eventually if he hasn't already.

If you can't see what shes teaching him, there is no way I'd be able to explain it for you to understand. I'm gonna guess you think what she did was wrong ?

According to some, the way I taught my children about the dangers of playing with fire was cruel...

I had a dear friend, who had been caught in a house fire that his younger brother had started with a lighter when they were both children....he spent more than two years in the hospital, for third-degree burns over his entire body.

The worst burns were to his face and ears. His lips were burned off, his nose was burned off, and most of his ears. And, what little hair remained, grew in odd little tufts, here and there, on his head.

I won't explain how most of the reconstructive surgery was made, except to say that to build the bridge of his nose, they used his tailbone.

When I caught my kids playing with fire, HE offered to come to my home to not only EXPLAIN the dangers of fire, but also, to SHOW them the results. (He didn't go out of his home...he was too self-conscious of his looks).

My kids NEVER picked up a lighter, matches, nor anything else that could cause a fire. AND, would "tattle" on their friends when THEY did so.

Doesn't matter what we think now does it? Matters what the kid thinks of it.

What is wrong with that.. When I was in first grade, my mother had me taking down to the police station, to be taught the dangers of playing with matches.. Why? because I always lit things on fire including my sister bed room.. One trip is all it took for me to get straight..
