Are you looking to stay around Phoenix mostly?
Would you be interested in doing local flatbed work with a possible Over the Road run if time permitted ?
Motivator from Phoenix, any advice

Update: found a local flat bed company looking for part time drivers. Called him said they are down 2 trucks because low on manpower , Explained my situation and sounded like he would work with me , said he’ll ask plant manager and to call back next day. Gave him a call he said plant manager said come back after you have cdl and 6mo - 1y experience

GI Bill:
Phoenix truck driving institute has a 3 week full time , 6 week part time program (late nights or early morn, or all day sat/sun schedule), and they are GI Bill & Post 9/11 GI Bill capable. Thing about that school is google review/yelp reviews are sketchy, common trend is teacher to student ratio is low, and in seat drive time is low. This is an "off the street" friendly school, go there with no permit and you leave with class a unrestricted haz/tank/double/trip. I'm getting more of a commercialized school feel from this. Lots of talk about getting setup with recruiters, lots of getting transferred to different people when I call them for info, and always trying to get my personal info down and come in for a tour. I get it though, no big deal.
The 7 day $1600 course is 1 on 1, seems to have better reviews, and a contact I know in the industry said they just sent a cdl permit holder to this school to get licensed. They seem like a smaller, mom and pop type operation.
Any insight would be great though!Last edited: Dec 12, 2020
