If no obvious leaking anywhere, then two things I would check. First see if there is oil in the exhaust that may be coming from turbo. Also, run a quick oil sample at a local Speedco or other shop that can do it, and see what the sample shows. If there is a lot of leaking around rings and such, then there will be a monster load of soot showing up in the oil sample. That would explain any oil burning also.
scottied67 and guru2323 Thank this. -
overheated onece it burns oil. usually bad piston rings, sometimes liners.
To be sure open oil filling neck and check for crankcase pressure...guru2323 Thanks this. -
I ran into this ! Mine was covered by warranty but i hate to tell you the cylinders are shot because of all the egr soot ! Dealer replaced 6 cylinder kits wouldnt replace the head but i since have all the guides was wore and badly carboned up ! If you are keeping the egr system i would at least put a bypass filter such as a spinner ii i have installed one on mine and oil samples are alot better it takes alot of the soot out of the oil that has wore the cylinders out! I have deleted the egr out of mine best move i have made to help the engine last longer.
