Thats what i was thinkin. The ticket was for 5 over. Was trooper cutting you a break? Were you actually 10-15 over? Now i have never been pulled over for 5mph over. Not saying it could not happen.

Well then you've never been to Indiana.

They hate truck drivers, they have a hard on for Ozark. We've had multiple rigs get pulled over for 66 in a 65. They don't get a speeding ticket, but the pig will start to do an inspection, at a high enough level until he finds a violation. If he doesn't get one at a 1, he'll do a 2, then a 3 if necessary.

Remember, in Indiana, the speed limit is 70 for everyone except big rigs, they're 65. That's for monetary reasons of course, not safety. Most trucks don't do 70 but a lot do 68 like ours.

Used to trk in Indiana a lot in the the 90's. Not now. Well each driver has a story and can tell it any way they want. Now i spend most of time in Pa, Ny, Ohio and Wv. Until it happens to me, i will stick to 5mph over unless higher speed like 70. Last ticket I received over 20 years ago in my cabover on I-271 in Ohio when limit was 55. Now today probably get one. I only average 75000 to 82000 miles a year. Not huge.

That's exactly my point. If everybody around me wasn't exceeding the posted speed limit, there would be no congestion. I'm legal. They're not. They're the cause of the congestion.

That's right. In no state in the nation would you be guilty of impeding traffic doing the speed limit, or even 5 under. In some cases 10 under would be fine. Why? The speed limit is the UPPER limit, not the lower. Slow the hell down people.

I got passed by a rig last night that literally pushed my truck to the side when he passed. i was doing 69 and he ripped my mirrors off. He was doing at least 90.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a while.

I was in a low speed high side. Broke my elbow. Bruised a lot of other stuff. Cracked my head. Hard. Would have been brain injuries for sure without the helmet. As it was, no head injuries at all.

You got lucky. I wouldnt know Ive never tried using my head for a brake. But I knew a guy who is a coroner that told me that once so apparently not everyone is so lucky.
