Motus registration

The way I understand the letter that I received, you log into the portal and verify that you’re active and if so, do nothing!

 

The PIN was established a long time ago.

It was in place when I started my last position.

I was there over 12 years and am retired around 3.5 years.

It allowed using the Portal to update the MCS150 online and more.

Intrastate and filing MCS150 by mail would mean you did not have a reason to obtain a PIN; as long as your insurance filing BOC 3 was current there was no reason to use the PIN/Portal until now.

The vast number of chameleon carriers and non-US ownership and control of many companies [think Chicagoland 1099 guys] along with multiple carriers using sketchy addresses has finally prompted FCMSA to finally clean house.

This was long overdue.

 

I actually checked it this morning and my identification has been verified despite, it not accepting it the 20 times I tried yesterday( I didnt try it today, it was just magically accepted). But it says something about a registering as a "supporting company"...... cant go any further in the process as thats the only option available to select so I just left the whole thing alone for today.....

Man this is a pain in the butt. Not having any luck here at all. Signed in no problem. Verify photo id waiting and waiting. Gave up for now.

 

they created these problems and we gotta jump through hoops now to help. f that. problems all day with the site and when I did get in it said I didn't have permission to access. Really? Had no problem doing my biennal update in February. Is any of this even worth the hassle anymore?

 

I got my identity verified but all the next steps are trying to get me to identify what type of supporting company I am and no option to tell them you're a motor carrier. Which is no big deal if I could just ignore it but now it sends me to that same page when I try to update my address on my FMCSA portal. It's like I have to be a transportation service provider, boc3 filer or insurance company to continue

 

Yea but if you read the options behind that, it says something about assisting motor carriers set up, not the actual motor carrier. I gave up at that step…. Unless I’m misunderstanding.

 

I’ve look more into it. Since I’m waiting for my PIN to come in the mail, my insurance broker said since I’m INTRASTATE only and my MCP is active and current, MOTUS can GFT’s. Now, if I cross state line(which I don’t plan on), then I will opening a can of worms.
