I wouldn't do it. Years ago I was told to pick up a trailer out of Atlanta GA and take it to Jacksonville FL and be sure not to roll over any scales. I did it but never again. I found out the trailer was load nose to end with "D" size every ready batteries. Yes you can get into FL without going through any scale house but you've got to know the area and I'm sure that hole is plug by now.

Nope it's not. There's multiple ways in and out depending on where you're going. St Cloud FL to western KS with cattle there are two ways to go without crossing a scale that are about the same time as running 10 west.

How about old fancy gap. Sideling Hill before 68? Fort Necessity? (Talk about straight up east bound)

Do not bother trying to get north into Ohio from the south across the mountains, your low range will break your elbow if your foot does not burn up first. I took a dollar truck 550 detroit across there once. spend it all in low range dragging over hill and dale with 20 to 30 gallon per hour burn rates for 4 to 5 hours. What a waste.

Any number of coal roads in PA will give you a fun time. Just remember when it's raining on a high crown you risk a tractor jackknife when loaded heavy because the temperators cool as you go higher something like 2 degree drop every 1000 feet until you find yourself on ice.

US 20 in Ohio is a personal favorite. Ride all the way without paying a penny in tolls.

Old 30 west of Gettysburg/Hanover. Not the new 30. The OLD, OLD 30.

322 to seven mountains (State College) comes to mind. Expect truckers without chain sliding off in snows deeper than a foot.

I can go on with a large number of other little roads. But there is one... 30 near breezewood. Don't go there. Don't be stupid. Don't why? Just do not. Be professional and pay your pike toll or run townhill on 70 like a good boy (Girl.)

Average about 3°F temperature drop for every 1000 feet elevation change, BUT if there's no wind cold air settles and high valleys can be colder than the summits of passes.

I don't think I was talking about all states, just FL. And I should have been a little clearer on where. From I75 over to Jacksonville there's no entry without being scaled. If you watch the seasons and go when the oranges are not being hauled they take down the one portable scale I know of. I got my info from a co driver that's lived all his live in St George and ran illegals (whiskey) for many years.

Well yeah there are scales if you're on the interstate. That being said, there are multiple ways in and out of FL that won't have you crossing a single scale.

I don't know about now but years ago back in the early 70's the state didn't let anyone in or out without being weighted. We had to cut through St George GA and a few back roads to make it through. And that was only during the season when the oranges were not in harvest. They must have changed and deregulated because back then it was tough.

Lets just say IF there were No way in/out Fl with out scaling.....the Pa Potato Chip industry would go the way of the steel mills.....
    Easily done......;)
