No shelf mount, but I have the same thoughts about a fixed mount beating up a tv. I also store my tv face down on the bunk when not in use. I bought some screws, nuts, and flat washers to fit the mounting holes on the back and hang the tv on the side wall with a small bungee when I want to use it. Takes about two minutes to hook it up or take it down.

I can also watch tv from the driver seat as well (only when parked). My seat has the swivel function to rotate around. -
I made the mount (welded the aluminium and bought the little bolts from home depot) and attached it with a rubber spring bushing to a swivel mount for a laptop. The reason I made it was because I trashed two monitors (I used them as TVs via my laptop) and this was because of the vibration in the sleeper. This solved the problem.

Lets see your set-up -
bought a $16 mount that moves from wally world, bought some different screws and bolts then mounted it on the side of the closet, use the tv strap from the truck to hold the mount arm in place when driving, has worked great so far.
