Lots of truth right there. Not that i like to..but i put the big squeeze on' em also, when they can't spare 31.5 seconds. Then on the Ohio Tpke on 3 lanes ,even some of these seat warmers can't move over into the far left for that 31.5 seconds when far right lane needs over. Scared to death that they may get a ticket for being in the far left lane, i guess, and oh..for 31.5 seconds.

I skipped over a few pages of comments, so sorry if this was covered.

My main gripe is that most everyone is following too closely and is too impatient. Few people seem willing to just slow down a LITTLE and let the right lane drivers move over.

I try not to cut into the left lane, which means I often have to brake check the person in back of me to slow down enough to be legal.
20MPH below speed limit in most cases.
And that person is usually an idiot tailgating me.

In response to your rant approximately five years ago a patrol officer east of Denver was sucked into the lane of traffic and killed. Two years ago same thing happened south of Denver. Now guessing more have probably fallen from the same fate in the other 48 states. Now your slowing down to 25 mph sounds to me like a good idea.

Being the parent of an LEO, I completely agree with these laws.

The accidents were probably caused by them being too busy on Facebook. When are these folks going to learn to put the effing phone down and just drive?

Sometimes all you can do is drop a couple gears and hit the flashers.I myself, refuse to cut you off.

Well they could bring back the Double Nickles nationwide again... Then would be somewhat less need to have traffic move over and give the idiots on the road more time to react to the flashing lights...

But I'm not so sure the OP would agree to this either.

Isn't that "moving over and slowing down?"
I'm not exactly sure what your original rant is... I move over no matter what is on the shoulder. It just makes sense! If I'm traveling at 65-70 mph and there is a stationary object on the shoulder, I want to get as far away from it as possible! How many times have we had someone pull into the travel lane from the shoulder without any hint of a yield? That's why I'm already moved over... When traveling at night, and you see a vehicle on the shoulder, can you tell right away if anybody is around it? Kind of makes sense to move over, doesn't it?
I've hauled a lot of oversize, I can be up to 12' wide, without an escort...Another good reason for moving over...
Been moving over before it was even a law...

If I'm in the right lane and the cars (mostly) refuse to let me move over for the people getting towed or fixing their car or whatever on the side and they're not really as far over as they should be... I crowd the zipper with steer tire, slow down a bit, and think to myself if they fall out into the road or a door swings way open or whatever... I will be pushing into that left lane...as far as necessary..

This is right up there with people who don't make way for am ambulance or fire trucks.. someday that could be you....
My personal favorite is when you do move over and maintain say 65 70, but that's not enough for the cars behind. So they blast into the right lane now between you and whatever issue there is on the side... real nice...
