Just now, this guy knocks on my door (I am awake) wants me to switch spots with him.
We got here yesterday, not leaving until tomorrow. This spot was open, it's the farthest most spot, no one on our other side. That's why we took it.
Well...... He asks if I can move my truck so he can have the spot because he has to go home for a few days. By the way his truck was there when we got here. He just drove up in his personal vehicle.
Well one of the reasons we parked here is so it's protected somewhat, which is why he wants the spot.
I'm conflicted because I like being nice, but I think it's very rude of h to ask.
Move truck! Not!

Nope. If he's already in a spot, he can stay where he's at.

Same thing happened to me @ Loves in Odessa a few weeks ago. I rolled in about 6:30 and it was beyond full. Except for about 3 spots in the back that I guess everyone thought were impossible to back into once the surrounding spots are full. So I just pulled into one. Then I watched a guy in a big ### crane try to manuever into a spot so I suggested he just pull into the spot like I did, which they did.
Then as Im killin some time looking at the epu on the International I was in, some dude was failing to back into another spot. He comes up and asks me if I can back into that spot, so he can get into mine. Lol, no. Im parked and the truck is off. But since he was a fellow flatbedder did help him back into the last spot next to me. -
If I understand correctly, this creep wants to use the truckstop for his personal terminal AND wants a specific spot of his choice.
NO.
And I would advise the truckstop management to tow the guy. Clearly abusing the privilege.drvrtech77, mjd4277, buddyd157 and 3 others Thank this. -
There's lots of spaces here too and it's not tight parking.
At the Petro in Willmington, IL.
I've left my truck at a truck stop near my house for a day or 2 at times ( no terminal near house) but I would never ask someone to switch with me -
That’s where you were supposed to loudly clear your throat while casually holding out your hand. Sure I might do that.
Sirscrapntruckalot, 389driver, Brucely and 2 others Thank this. -
So what happened? Did he whine and complain before he left?
-
I'd have to be there to make a call.
