Yeah I just wondered because I'm near plenty of moving companies got a few friends that move for Coleman they are home almost every night and one grossed 40k just for riding and unpacking and most of the time it's the driver and 3 helpers. And off close to every weekend. So they have company drivers or all o/o?

With a lot of moving companies they will have some company drivers doing local moves but more often they will be contractors with box trucks doing the move.

One of my bosses grossed 450k his last year on the road. Got audited by the irs and lost his ### tho

Also at our agency we as lumpers demanded dollar a hundred weight for jobs. Or if it was 6k or under 15 an hour with a 4 hour mini. Thats what i used to pay lumpers. If someone really busted there hump id kick them something extra. However lumpers will most always try to get more out of you no matter how fair you try to be

Lol a dolor a hundred. Ok. How much did you pick up? I got 18k to deliver did you pick up all of it yourself? Most lumpers are going to try and beat you on the money. They want to make more then the driver. Doesn't work that way. I pay fairly if you work well you are paid for it. If your and idiot and are going to cost me in claims have a nice day I don't need you. I got out of house hold about 6 years ago. I'm doing special commodities I do well enough. The 1099 at the end of the year may not be as large but the take home is better so I come out ahead.

If some told you "hey ill give you a dollar if you pick this 100 lbs free weight up and carry it from the street to my upstairs bedroom" would you do it?

I never worked for less than dolla a hundo because the first agency i worked for would keep you on the clock when you went with a driver, then charge the driver dollar a hundred for us. Sometimes we would get the drivers number, then call in sick to work and drive to the job lol
