Moving from van to step deck

    IMO, step rates are not as volatile as van. First off there are not as many loads, so it's a bit easier to sort through them. Secondly, the bottom rates are not quite as low. In good areas you can haul going rate if you have too and actually make a little money with a step. With van you do sometimes see a $1.50/mile load shoot all the way up to $3 or $4/mile if it really has to go. I don't see that as much with step unless it's a short haul.

    p.s.- I hope windsmith does very, very well also !!
