A couple of those locations are new to me, did not exist when we were with FFE in our time. However I can absolutely see why FFE would establish the new locations in those places these last 20 years to support their traffic. Midland is oil country. That's pretty much it. We have papers in their court house due to several capped and closed wells in Texas as part of family ownership from previous relatives. So it's zero income for us. (Oil has salted out more or less, there isnt anything worth continuing those wells in their time. We do keep a eye on them and take a look now and then. Texas is a economic powerhouse, however you need a good vehicle to get around. And if you looked hard enough you will find something that pays relatively good wages. Not to mention some freedoms you do not enjoy in Connecticut.
OTR is always there not matter where you live. If you found cheap living and can afford to be Home every night with your girlfriend, then try A local job. OTR is always plan B for all of us if things Go sideways at home. It's a get out of jail free card that all class A Drivers keep in their back pocket.
From now to Sept is a lifetime in the oilfield. While I wouldn't say its booming, its steady. Rates aren't great, so competition is up. No way in hell Id live there, and your gf being there for 9mo by herself..lots of oilfield guys with $ there. You might not have a gf by summer, let alone Sept lol. W Tx is hard to describe for anyone who hasnt experienced it...basically its Thunderdome.
Lmao I thought of that myself. If she cheats her loss I'm still going down regardless but if she is unfaithful Ill simply move on
