My 05 Columbia started out at under 5 MPG Fleet Air Filter - No measurable gain. Changing to all synthetic oil - No gain in MPG, huge increase in oil consumption EGR Tuner - No measurable MPG gain, better driveability Barometric Pressure Sensor resistor trick - .1 -.2 better MPG, waaaay better driveability Changing 4 drive tires from Chinese junk to Firestone FS507's - .2 - .3 better MPG Figuring out that my tach is wrong & I actually have 3.73 rear ends not the 3.23's that I calculated and adjusting my driving - almost .5 MPG I'm between 5.5 & 6.1 now really waiting for 30 & 90 day averages to come along. Next home time is for mufflers & possibly the rest of the drive tires. The goal is 6.5 on a 30 day average.
Its the AirCell and Turbo3000 that did it!! Hey I have an ECO Systems Fuel Enhancer that I got from a guy off this very website that I'll sale you for CHEAP *As I admitted later on after the thread got closed, this device didnt work AND Dice1 was correct about my fuel system sucking air causing rough idling which was also the culprit of low fuel economy* Some "veteran" posters may remember the thread......... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...z-eco-fuelsystems-fuel-enhancers-does-95.html
Thank you! The magic tubes that claim to increase fuel mileage are usually a band aid covering up a real problem with the fuel system.
Don't really care who believes it and who doesn't, all I'm saying is it worked for my truck. And no I don't have any problem with my fuel system. My truck sounds quieter, runs smoother than it did without it, I've been through and replaced the things on the fuel system that needed to be changed before I put on the aircell. When I put it on I went from 6.6 to 7, so in my opinion the darn thing worked.
