MPG issues at Con-Way

Are they getting APU's on the new trucks nowadays? I know they were in a test phase in 2010.. never found the outcome.

 

No, They do not do APU's anymore

 

They do DSOE.....that's Driver Shut Off Engine!

 

Never heard of a swamp cooler. Googled it and now I know more than I ever wanted to know. Pretty cool...pun intended. Hoping the repairs and lower speeds and shifting sooner will solve all your problems. Remember, they look at mpg problems in relation to the rest of the fleet. So if the fleet is high because it is summer, that gets accounted for. Work on those other items and you should do fine.

What kind of t660 is it? With a ten speed and the tag axle or one of the old ones with the exposed fuel tank? I had one of the new ones and i NEVER shut the truck off, only when i go home, always did 65 mph and always came up with 6.3 mpg or more. Maybe your truck has an issue, i dont think its normal.

Tell them its the trucks fault, then put it in the shop or ask them to give you another truck. They would rather give you another truck than to let you go.

 

Truck wouldnt run if it had to actually do 14 regens,,,once a regen is required by engine,it is either done or the can fills up,once past 27% it makes the truck to shut down,So Im ??? on the "14"
