I am from across the river from you and with all those NASCAR teams around you, you should be using some of their technology in your truck to get better fuel mileage. I have friends that work in the Hendricks Motor Shop and Roush Racing Parts Shop that led me to MicroBlue over in Denver, NC. We started with wheel bearings, then the rear ends, the tranny and pretty much anything else that friction robbed hp and fuel mileage. Alot of the big teams use the REM bowl micro polishers and do their own coatings in house with the Tungsten Disulfide process that they will not admit to or allowed to admit it, but you can get that same technology with Microblue: http://www.microblueracing.com/

Go by a visit Craig for a shop tour and don't spend too much time at Lancaster's BBQ eatting in the fan bus inside the restaurant.....LOL

I have worked for both Hendricks and Roush Racing and know my was around most of these teams. Information around these teams are watched over and protected; defended; kept from the general public. There is a shop here that has developed a rear end that takes 80% less power to pull. Mr Williams has spent much time in the development and here again is guarded technology as Mooresville has become the place to be because of technology in Tungsten Disulphide and other products. We have known how extremely slick lubricant gives us extremely low coefficient. Dry film lubricant coating helps me with my coefficient and these boys are on track but the coefficient of friction of 0.02 breaks down due to the extremely high heat hauling 80,000 pounds and running 200,000 per year as my XLT freightliner is running. My XLT has a 600 HP engine and my son turns from Charleston to Washington State and back in a little less than 6 days and my truck is getting 6.9 MPG and he is running it hard where he can. Between here and Washington are many mountians and the bogy temp runs high because my detroit is running at max HP and we are always looking at that because heat is friction and friction is a loss of production. I did not major in social arts, what's that?, is that the bottom of the academic latter, sorry I'm being a smart(&^&^&&)now. I know the boys in Denver and I also know how well 78 is running for Denver Matt- We are looking at several innovative ideas such as doing away with the tranny and making the rear end run on hydraulics. You talk about using some of their technology in our trucks well we all are hunting down friction my friend but then here comes another, "tires" I've run test tires for Brad Ragon and we are always looking at the right compound to achieve better life as hauling 80,000 pounds at 75 or 80 MPH and over will eat up a set of tires in one round to Washington State. I have installed an aneroid valve on my detroit to stop it from pulling to hard on take off as that will eat up a set of tires. Freightliner has a world of data from CF motor lines as they were at one time running 10,000 trucks and freightliner was owned by CNF and they owned CF and Conway and Emory. I am able to get data on every part running on my truck and there is a lot of other truck lines that look at this data also. Just because we drive a truck and live in the country don't make us shade tree dummies. you made a snide comment, "you should be using some of their technology in your truck to get better fuel mileage" If Microblue has something all these trucking companys would flock to them but I don't see any running so take it for what it's worth, TRUCKS ARE A DIFFERENT BREED but then again you are smart you should know this. IF a red XLT freightliner blows your doors off and you see ARBS SPECIAL TRANS on it say hi to my son Don or his buddy Tom. Oh by the way Jack Roush and I are both EAA members and Jack owns two P-51's we both fly our war birds to the EAA every year also Jack always has a booth there showing his engines and cars. You know, I must be doing something right if able to afford a world war two fighter. I love it when you kids try to teach an old dog new tricks. Don't be affended, I'm a smart #####.

I still have the steering wheel scars on my left arm from a Spicer 18 speed. Diamond REO or Autocar, I don't remember. Steer, gas, clutch, & Shift. But it was fun :biggrin_25523:
